The University has funds for the purpose of assisting its students who may face certain types of financial situations. The University's bursary program is intended as possible supplementary assistance to help qualifying students with a portion of their educational costs. Students registered in Graduate Studies, Medicine, Dentistry (with the exception Dental Hygiene Students), or Law are ineligible to receive incourse scholarships or renew an existing scholarship. Scholarship recipients will be notified by Dalhousie email. In-Course Scholarship assessment takes place over the summer months. Transfer credits do not count towards the credit hours reviewed for scholarship assessment. In those cases where students have taken more than 30 credit hours, assessment is based on all courses taken within the term(s) being assessed. Co-op students completing two work terms within one academic year must complete a minimum of 15 credit hours during their one academic term, achieve a minimum term GPA of 3.70, and achieve passing grades in both work terms, to be considered eligible. Co-op students who are on a work term during the calendar year must also complete 30 credit hours over two terms and achieve a passing grade in their work term to be eligible. General InformationĪll undergraduate Dalhousie students not on a renewable scholarship, in eligible programs in the Faculties of Architecture and Planning, Arts and Social Sciences, Computer Science, Engineering, Health Professions, Management, and Science, and the Dental Hygiene program, who have completed a full course load (a minimum of 30 credit hours) over two terms within the previous academic year and achieved a minimum SGPA of 3.70 will be considered eligible for in-course scholarships. The awards listed under the Department and 'All Awards' pages include those administered centrally (by the Registrar's Office, International Centre, and other units) as well as those administered within faculties and departments. Students who have yet to choose a major or belong to a Faculty of College that does not have Departments should select their Faculty or College, and then 'All Faculty Awards'. Through these partnerships, members can access internship and career opportunities.The term 'awards' in this section is a general term encompassing scholarships, bursaries, awards, prizes, medals, fellowships, and studentships. The society therefore partners with corporate and non-profit organisations. The Society recognises and encourages academic excellence, leadership development and commitment to community service and serves as a life-time network. Golden key not only grants its members access to various academic and professional perks but also opens networking opportunities. “Eduvos and Golden Key will work together to address the national issue of graduate unemployment as well as celebrating academic excellence, linking to the purpose of Eduvos which is to shape potential – student by student – towards Africa's prosperity,” says Cheryl Smith, Head of Student Support & Student Affairs. The Eduvos Employability centre creates opportunities for Eduvos students to find work placement after graduation and supports them through industry partnerships and relationships. The collaboration was conducted by Eduvos’s Employability centre in conjunction with Golden Key. Membership to Golden Key is by invitation only. Eduvos students who get high marks that place them in the top 15% of their respective degrees, will be invited to join Golden Key and access all the benefits that go along with it. Membership to Golden Key opens many doors for students, including scholarships and opportunities to study abroad.Įduvos is the first private higher education institution in South Africa to enable its students to access Golden Key. Golden Key International Honour Society is the world’s largest collegiate honour society for graduate and undergraduate students. Eduvos will be one of 19 chapters of Golden Key in South Africa and the only chapter at a private institution. In another first, Eduvos is excited to announce that it has partnered with Golden Key from the 2023 academic year onwards. Eduvos becomes first private higher education institution in South Africa to partner with Golden Key.
